STUDIOS 94 offers three self-led residency programs to fit different creative needs, with space for three residents per month. Our building is located directly in the city centre of Chiang Mai, next door to an art supply shop, and spans over five floors. It includes an art gallery, workshop space, coworking areas, artist and creative studios, balconies, a rooftop, and other shared facilities—giving you access to both inspiring social spaces and calm, personal areas.

You'll also have the opportunity to join any of our community events taking place during the time of your residency.

Visa
Foreign artists planning to join our 3-month art residency in Thailand will typically need a Non-Immigrant Visa O or a Non-Immigrant Visa B, depending on their purpose and activities. These visas allow for extended stays and may require additional documentation, such as an invitation letter from our art space. Artists on a Tourist Visa can also stay for up to 60 days, extendable for an additional 30 days.
Selling artwork or conducting business activities for any foreigners is not permitted by Thai law.

Private Studio Residents are provided with a private bedroom and their own fully enclosed studio for solo use.
You'll also have access to shared spaces within STUDIOS 94, including the coworking area, rooftop, kitchen, and lounge. WiFi, utilities, and daily cleaning of shared areas are all included in the residency fee.
Residents receive discounts on all in-house workshops and may choose to host their own open day or workshop during their stay.
Your work and profile will be promoted across STUDIOS 94’s platforms, offering added visibility and connection during and beyond your residency.
Residents can choose between two studio types:

Touch Studio — ideal for creatives who need room to experiment, make a mess, or work with hands-on materials. This setup is best for sculptors, painters, workshop hosts, and artists working with mixed media or tools. The space can be arranged accordingly for more intensive, process-based work.

Playroom Studio — best suited for tattoo artists, designers, and creatives whose practices are cleaner or more contained. This studio offers a calm, flexible setup without heavy materials or mess, ideal for digital creatives, precision-based artists, or those running quieter, appointment-based practices.
Each space will be arranged accordingly based on your creative practice.

The private studio residency program is priced at 69,000 THB per month, approximately €1,821.13 EUR or $2,084.59 USD.
A one-month deposit is required to confirm and secure your booking.
Deposit & Cancellation Policy:
The deposit is non-refundable in the case of cancellation.
If the residency is completed successfully, the deposit will be returned within 14 days of your departure, provided there are no damages or outstanding fees.
What’s Not Included:
The residency fee does not include travel expenses, meals, visa arrangements, or personal costs.
Art materials and tools are not provided and must be brought or sourced by the resident. All residents are responsible for their own health, travel, and artwork insurance.
